The TH500 Quiz: Winners announced!

Thanks to everyone who took part in the TH500 Quiz to win the new Trinity House photo book Light Through A Lens and an illustrated print by Peter Kent!

The competition announced on 27/06/2014 as part of Trinity House’s 500th anniversary celebrations has now closed and we’re very happy to announce the winners and the close runners-up.

The competition ran publicly and also internally to Trinity House staff. A great many entries came back to us and we were very pleased to see how many correct answers there were.

The lucky member of the public who won the photography book is Valerie Amis of Cambridgeshire; the runner-up is Patrick Tubby of Norfolk, who will receive a print by Peter Kent, so well done to both! Valerie and Patrick, we’ll be in touch with you very soon.

Internally, Paul Kerr from our Harwich-based Planning Centre is the winner of the book, and Leslie Wiles from our Harwich-based Engineering and Project Delivery department gets a print.

Both Valerie and Paul will receive a copy of the Trinity House photography book Light Through A Lens, a lavish coffee table-style book featuring the best photography from the Trinity House archive being published by nautical book specialist Adlard Coles on 11 September 2014.

To find out more about the book, written by Neil Jones and Paul Ridgway, please go to the Bloomsbury website.

No less lucky are Patrick and Leslie, both of whom will receive a handsome print by acclaimed marine artist Peter Kent. Peter has worked closely with Trinity House to produce a number of Trinity House-themed prints celebrating 500 years of service to the mariner. His work can be seen on his website.
