Reading Room
Ideal for meetings and smaller lunches or dinners
The smallest of the rooms, although intimate and charming, it has no less character than the house’s larger rooms.
On display is a Victoria Cross and other military medals and a candle from John Smeaton's Eddystone Lighthouse of 1759.
As inspiration for successful negotiations, a portrait of Winston Churchill and Franklin D Roosevelt at the signing of the Atlantic agreement presides over Reading Room meetings.
Meetings and intimate lunches
The Reading Room is a pleasantly intimate space that lends itself to small board meetings, dinners and lunches. Connected by wide, double doors to the library, it can also serve as a reception room for a larger event.
